Siham is a French chanteuse who feels equally at home singing torch songs as fronting a moody indie band with husband Michael Parsons.
Phil the Tremolo King is a New Orleans-based, Belgian-born guitarist, songwriter and composer who has been leading his band “the Eclectic Ensemble” in various clubs on and off Frenchmen Street, as well as NOMA, the Sculpture Garden and the Palmer Park Arts Market, just to name a few.
The two met when Siham was a lead actress in Phil’s musical play “When Books Begin to Burn”. A friendship was struck and they decided to continue working together. Expect a varied repertoire of trad, swing, and chanson as Siham’s smooth, husky voice wraps itself around Phil’s six string work that’s both impressionistic and deeply rooted in jazz tradition.
So allow Siham and the Tremolo King to transport you to some hidden lounge, far from the trials and tribulations of modern life, a place where smooth and suave meet, and Julie London has a drink with David Lynch while Django Rheinhardt strums romantic chords in the background. Or something like that.
